International Adult Learners' Week
March 2–8, 2009
Community Adult Learnng Councils, community literacy programs, post-secondary institutions in communities across Alberta join other provinces and 40 countries in celebrating International Adult Learners’ Week. This worldwide event is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to celebrate the achievements of adult learners and to promote the importance of lifelong learning.
International Adult Learners’ Week will be celebrated March 2-8, 2009. This year’s theme Living and Learning for a Viable Future – The Power of Adult Learning speaks to the power of lifelong learning as a key to the knowledgeable and skilled population needed for Alberta’s next-generation economy.
