Opening of the Canadian Pavilion at BIO2009.

Doug Horner, Minister of Advanced Education and Technology, brings greetings from the Alberta government to the opening of the Canada pavilion at BIO2009.  He is joined at the podium by: (from left to right) Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario; Jean Charest, Premier of Quebec; dignitary; dignitary; Doug Horner; dignitary; Tony Clement, Minister of Industry Canada.  Later in the evening at the Alberta reception, Minister Horner announced the launch of two Alberta-based genomics projects:  plant genomics (read news release) and oil metagenomics (read news release).
