Alberta Student Number (ASN)
The Alberta Student Number (ASN) is an important tool in every learner’s educational journey. It is a unique number assigned to each Alberta learner, and allows students to
- obtain their Alberta High School transcripts
- apply for post-secondary studies in Alberta (universities, colleges, technical institutes, apprenticeship programs)
- apply for post-secondary funding (loans, grants, scholarships, and bursaries)
- apply for post-secondary funding from Alberta, if studying outside the province.
Students can find their ASN
- online at the Learner Registry
- on any Alberta report card from Kindergarten to Grade 12
- on a Diploma Examination Results Statement from Alberta Education
- on a High School Transcript of Achievement
- on a Statement of Courses and Marks from Alberta Education
If you don't have an ASN you will need to get one
- before you apply for post-secondary studies
- before you apply for funding for post-secondary studies
- if you are new to the education system in Alberta
