Who is Eligible

The $500 ACES Plan grant is available to a child who meets all these requirements:

  • was born in 2005 or later
  • has a parent or guardian who is a resident of Alberta
    • at the time of application, or
    • at the time of birth
  • is named as a beneficiary of an eligible RESP

The $100 ACES Plan grants are available to a child who meets all these requirements:

  • is named as a beneficiary of an eligible RESP
  • turns 8, 11 or 14 in 2005 or later
  • has a parent or guardian who is a resident of Alberta
    • at the time of application, or
    • at the time of the child’s applicable birthday
  • is attending school
    • at the time of application, or
    • at the time of the child’s applicable birthday
  • for whom a deposit of at least $100 has been made to an RESP within one year prior to application
