Funding Your Education and Training

Student & Apprentice Funding

Funding for education or training is a shared responsibility between students, their families if applicable, and government. It usually comes from a combination of sources. Government resources are intended to supplement your personal financial resources.

Funding Sources 

Your financial resources include:

  • your savings
  • income from working (part-time and summer)
  • RRSP funds
  • RESP funds
  • contributions from parents, spouses/partners or other family members
  • income from apprenticeship or cooperative education programs
