Post-Secondary Education System

Campus Alberta

Campus Alberta is a set of principles developed to ensure key stakeholders in the advanced education system work together to deliver seamless learning opportunities for Albertans.  It promotes a holistic approach to learning that sees both formal and informal learning opportunities contributing to the process of lifelong learning.

Its core objectives are to

  • eliminate the obstacles faced by learners of all ages
  • foster lifelong participation in the advanced education system

Campus Alberta is the driving force of the Next Generation Economy.  It aims to increase learners’ ease of entry into and movement within the advanced education system, create more flexible learning opportunities and to provide learners with the tools they need to succeed in their chosen learning pathway.  By achieving these objectives, Alberta will ensure it has a high-quality, globally-recognized advanced education system that is resilient, responsive, and relevant to learner, economic, and social needs.

Vision

The vision of Campus Alberta is to ensure that Albertans have the opportunity to participate in lifelong learning supported by an education system in which learning providers collaborate to deliver quality and innovative learning opportunities where and when Albertans need them to enhance their social, cultural and economic well-being.

Supporting Policy

The principles and objectives of Campus Alberta are articulated in Campus Alberta: A Policy Framework and have recently been further supported by the Roles and Mandates Policy Framework.
