Life Sciences
The Life Sciences Industries Branch (LSI) works to expand Alberta’s life sciences industry. LSI contributes to the establishment and growth of small- and medium-sized life sciences companies in Alberta by
- Fostering research partnerships with international companies, via support of collaborative research conducted at Alberta’s universities
- Raising the profile of Alberta’s life sciences industry and the advantages of Alberta as a place to do business, through participation in conferences, trade shows, and trade missions
- Maintaining relationships with Alberta’s life sciences researchers and companies, and keeping updated on their needs and concerns

Nanotechnology
nanoAlberta is the Alberta government's team dedicated to putting the Alberta Nanotechnology Strategy into action by working with industry, researchers and investors to help build Alberta's nanotechnology industry and apply the benefits of nanotechnology in the energy, environment, medical, agriculture and forestry sectors.

International Profile
Advanced Education and Technology occasionally participates in international missions to raise the profile of Alberta’s advanced education and technology sectors on the world stage. These missions typically involve delegations of academic, industry, investment, and government representatives. They aim to open global doors, stimulate new international opportunities, and establish Alberta as a knowledge-intensive jurisdiction that encourages and supports the sharing and transfer of knowledge and technology with international partners.
